I am an ancestor of Roger des Moulin one of the Grand Masters of the Knights Hospitalier. How did this family fit into the Holy Roman Empire. It seems it had a part in both the Battle of Hastings and with the Papacy but in all honesty it really doesn't say how. I've also noticed this family changes last names at will. It has used last names such as various spellings of Moulin, Martin, Martel, Gibson, Collins, Ballard, Valentine, and even Salvatore. I noticed this connection yes but I'm not sure as to what to think. What are we really? Are we Romans, Saxons or something else? I have been told we are connected with the blood of Charlemagne but I am not certain as to how. How would I know?

Re: Jesuite role /inquisition. The order is marqued as...a society.what about Jesus`s statement..." My Kingdom is not of the world,if it was,Legion of Angels would be here to help"...? why all the Jesuite emphasis on politices, usuage of torture in overriding the Soul`s discretion in how to worship God in Spirit + Truth?

There are common beliefs to be found with in all the mainstream protestant religiions...some of which are discussed here. And yet I also believe that there are many, many other common beliefs to be found within all religions. I do not advocate for any particular religious belief; as they all teach essentially the same thing... or do they?

Very informative post. According to the Book of Jubilees, the Israelite conquest of Canaan, and the curse, are attributed to Canaan's steadfast refusal to join his elder brothers in Ham's allotment beyond the Nile, and instead "squatting" on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean, within the inheritance delineated for Shem.

During the years of migration and the subsequent conquest of Palestine, the contacts with other cultures modified the political structure and belief system of followers of Moses—now known as the tribes of Israel. They became strictly monotheistic and accepted the god Yahweh (whom they had adopted from a tribe in the Sinai desert)

How did the great historic civilizations of the world develop? How does a past so shadowy that it has to be painstakingly reconstructed from fragmentary, largely unwritten records nonetheless make us who and what we are?
